How to Learn Spoken English Easy and Quickly.
Language is one of the tools that connect people. You could be a non-native English speaker, but English is a common language everyone uses to communicate. I’m from Sri Lanka, so here, English kind of important to everyone. In my country, we have to use English for most of everything these days. Like in college, the working environment and sometimes in public places. Mainly I’m in the IT field, so we need English. During my school time, I’m not good at speaking English. o yeah, I’m not talking about writing here because writing is also essential, but I think speaking is more important than writing. Because we communicate with others using voice. Another reason is that most people know write but spoken is the issue.
But after high school, I recognise how important spoken English is. I was embarrassed the past few years because sometimes when I was speaking in English, I knew something was wrong. I’m not afraid to talk, but I can’t like I’m stuck when speaking with someone. So I start to learn spoken English by using internet resources. Now it’s been eight months since I started to learn spoken English. So I’m going to share some tips I followed.
Language is used for two things, Describe something and Describe an Activity.
Listening.
Listing is an essential thing when you need to learn a language. Think like this. After the new baby is born, how long do they take to talk? Around one year may be so when they find words to speak because after they are born, they don’t talk until a few months, as i said before. They listen to everything; what their parents speak, what their relatives talk about, brothers and sisters, they listening everything. That’s how we need to start learning new language listing.
- Podcast.
I love listing to podcasts when I’m travelling or driving, I listing podcasts. It’s so easy because when using youtube, we need to focus on video and audio, but in the podcast, you only need to focus on audio.

- Music.
You can listen to English songs and read the lyrics, I do that most of the time.
Vocabulary.
We need a vocabulary. It’s pretty obvious. It’s easy to do because you can note the words you don’t know while reading something. And after, you can use a dictionary to find the meaning of that word. I’m a huge manga fan I read manga every day. so I found new words, and I do the same thing. And while you watch a movie, you can do the same. If you read many things, it’s easy to find new words.
I recommend watching tv series so you can improve your listening and find the words and common phrases people use daily.
Friends, Office, How I met your Mother, Grace and Frankie, Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, The Crown
Tenses.
I think this is the most confusing subject for most ones.
like I said before is used for two things Describe something and describe an Activity.
Now (present).
It is combined with other words to tell someone about yourself / about others or to describe something you are doing / Others are doing.
DESCRIBING PATTERN
AM | IS | ARE
- I am Dave.
- I am tired.
- I am happy
Negative.
- He is not bad.
- I am not hungry.
- She is not beautiful.
ACTIVITY PATTERN
AM | IS | ARE + ING.
- I am driving.
- She is reading.
- They are playing.
Negative.
- She is not coming.
- He is not hungry.
- I am not writing.
Past Actions.
It is combined with other words to tell someone about your past, or Somebody else’s / Something else’s or to describe something you did/ Others did.
DESCRIBING PATTERN
WAS | WERE
- I was tired.
- I was hungry.
- She was there.
- She was beautiful.

- She was not there.
ACTIVITY PATTERN
- I drove the car.
- I went home early.
- we played cricket.
- Sister played the guitar.
- He took my pen.
When we talk about something activity in past action, we have to use a verb as a present, past, and past participant. If we can’t remember the past form, we can use the did + verb. This is a kind of magic trick.
- I did not drive a car.
- I did go home early.
- We did play cricket.
- Sister did play the guitar.
- He did take my pen.
Negative.
- He didn’t take my book.
- She didn’t cry.
Future Actions.
The future is a verb tense used for a future activity or a future state of being.

Bridge From past to present.
An activity or “state of being” continues from past to present or is finished in the recent past. (This is not the past tense or something)

i think you can get an idea about tenses.
Writing.
I’m not good at this still. So, in that case, you can use software like Grammarly. Everyone uses that these days. That software recognizes runtime spelling mistakes and grammar and so many things.
YouTube.
So this is a common platform for learning anything you want.
I will recommend good channels for learning English.
